In 2020, we incorporated the MS360 tool which combines audio-visual training with 360 technology to improve the training process for new staff.

An equality plan was introduced to ensure non-discrimination of employees for reasons of gender, guaranteeing the same opportunities and remuneration policies.

We have two physical, chemical and biological wastewater treatment plants.

INDUSTRY, INNOVATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE

We’re part of pioneering projects in research and innovation on more sustainable materials, working with research centres such as IRTA, BIP LEITAT, AINIA and INNOVAC.

In 2020 the operative group MATSOS (More sustainable plastic materials in the meat industry) with the coordination of Innovac and the participation of IRTA ended.

RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTION AND USE

0% waste from raw materials

We recycle more than 80% of the plastic waste we generate.

In 2020, we obtained the ECOSENSE certificate which guarantees the recycling chain of our PET packaging, contributing to consolidate a circular economy model in the PET thermoforming packaging sector.

Elimination of single use cups and bottled water.

We’ve reduced the amount of plastic packaging, reducing 71.241 kg of plastic annually.

ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION

We promote energy saving, reduced water use, decreased waste generation and the use of recycled and recyclable materials.

We use reusable, stackable, washable boxes and trays, both in the reception of raw materials and in their production process.

In 2020 we’ve improved energy efficiency by reducing the consumption and reduced the carbon footprint by 372 tonnes of CO2.

LIFE OF LAND ECOSYSTEMS

Committed to animal welfare, we have agreements with our meat suppliers so they certify their animal fattening systems with the international standard of animal Welfare, Welfare Quality, before 2022.

In 2020, AENOR has certified Embutidos Monells in the Animal Welfare standards, and the technical regulation of animal welfare and biosecurity for Interporc based on the European Welfare Quality standard.
